Meaningful Choices

I’m just tired. I’m tired of constantly feeling like I’m making no progress. Tired of my anxious thoughts. Tired of feeling like I have no community. Tired of running around and getting nowhere. Tired of work. Tired of not meeting my goals.

If you’re like me, and you feel like you’re crawling to the finish line. I think we just need to take a deep breath. Let’s take a step back. Maybe even journal to see what small changes we need to make in order to renew our minds and hearts. Could it be a visit to the Blessed Sacrament? A mindset shift, or maybe integrating a new discipline or a life-giving routine?

I’m seeing that I need to decrease my screen time at night and in the morning. So maybe an alarm clock might help me use my phone less, read more, and sleep better. That’s a small life-giving tweak I can make. As I write, I’m realizing that praying the Liturgy of the Hours is also something I can implement to anchor myself throughout the day.

A few days ago the I read the verse: In the midst of affliction you have give me life.

The verse hit me because honestly, my fatigue feels like real affliction. Even so God has given me life. It’s up to me to figure out how to live amidst difficulties.

A prayer:

Lord, help me to live amidst affliction. Be my life, my energy, my joy!
